The Costly, Colossal Moscow

Moscow is one of the world’s most expensive cities to live. An enormous amount of money is concentrated here -- transformed into pompous buildings, luxury business centers, brand name clothing, and, of course, top of the line cars (sold at double or triple the price, and even so, driven recklessly). Moscow didn’t have a chance to grow organically, as explosive development ensued upon the collapse of the Soviet Union, resulting in a severe skewing of infrastructure.

Colossal business centers and many government buildings swarm with gazillions of “managers” and staff who spend hours a day commuting alone to and from work. Traffic suffocates and paralyzes the city, sometimes for hours, leaving behind a thick layer of smog.
